 Ijlal Al-Humeidha

Story of one of the trainees of the sewing/tailoring training course offered by Jannaty Foundation for Development.
Ijlal Al-Humeidha, a thirty-year-old mother of three children, living in Al-Sabeen District.
"Due to the difficult conditions I was living in, I started to consider self-employment to earn a living and better the life of my family. So I joined the sewing training course provided by Jannaty Foundation for Development, Women's Vocational Training Sector, under the project "I Work to Support My Family", which targets to transform families from consumers into producers and empower women economically by teaching them livelihood skills to become financially independent.
As a matter of fact, Yemeni women have been and still are examples of struggle. For me, I do not ever remember myself holding a needle or a thread before this and definitely I had no experience with the sewing machine. So I faced many difficulties at the beginning of the training owing to some family and financial issues that could have prevented me from continuing my training, but thanks to God and the encouragement and support received from Jannaty Foundation management, I was able to earn a diploma in sewing with excellence and even became one of the foundation trainers, helping many other trainees graduate from the course.
Thus, I recommend every woman who wants to learn a trade or profession and participate in the labor market join Jannaty Foundation for Development".
